Being an artist is something I deeply love, but my journey didn’t start easily. Like anyone beginning their creative path, I had to start somewhere. I always knew I had a natural talent for creativity, but developing my skills took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error.

There are many challenges in being an artist—one of the biggest is learning to accept constructive criticism without taking it personally. Over the years, I’ve become incredibly grateful for the people who have supported my work and offered honest feedback, helping me grow along the way.

One of the most exciting parts of being an artist is exploring different styles. Finding your own artistic voice is essential, but the beauty of art is that it can always evolve. This particular piece was a freestyle—something I rarely do. Most of my paintings are carefully planned, sketched, and deeply rooted in storytelling. But every once in a while, I enjoy letting go, picking up a canvas, and allowing my pencil and paintbrush to guide me without a set direction.

In this painting, I studied atmospheric perspective and focused on intricate details. Near the bottom of the canvas, the snake’s tongue twists and slithers into a specific word: Bao—which stands for Be An Original. That’s the message I want to share with any artist just starting their journey: stay true to yourself, be original, and embrace your unique creative path.
