In 2021, I faced a challenging battle with COVID-19 that led to a prolonged hospitalization. Witnessing the resilience of elderly patients grappling with the virus deeply moved me and inspired the creation of this painting. I sought to capture the essence of a warrior's spirit, symbolizing the formidable struggle against adversity. While the virus tested my endurance, I couldn't help but empathize with the older individuals facing even greater challenges. The mountain lion, with its raw power and tenacity, embodies the indomitable spirit required to overcome such trials. placed with a crown of king cardinal feathers, it represents the liberation and triumph that await those who persevere through adversity, mirroring the courageous battle waged by countless individuals against the virus each day.
